This week I welcome Brandon Long, a structural engineer who plays as a woodworker at night. Brandon actually knows what he is talking about when it comes to structures and fatigue rates and all that stuff that I pretend to know about from watching "The Big Bang Theory".

Basically Brandon stepped up to my invitation for a real engineer to come and talk about wood structure and strength and it was really interesting to hear not just about his knowledge of structure and wood but other materials like carbon fiber that you have heard me speak about in the past being mixed with wood in plywood construction.  A big thanks to Brandon for taking some time to chat and let fly with some great information we can all take back to our shops and use.  Make sure to check out his creations and follow him on Instagram
